Disney Day 4 - MGM, Kona, and MK

Disney Day 4 – December 3, 2007
Today we venture to MGM Studios…this will be the last visit where it is still MGM as they are changing their name to Disney Hollywood Studios. Ahhh the memories. OK, name change is no big deal…it will still be the same park, and maybe even better. YUP, still crowded, but it is a beautiful day. Are we really in the month of December? This is crazy! Its December 3rd! We are in summer clothes and it feels so good! We walk in and I take Tim’s room key to get fast passes. Tim is not crazy about roller coasters anymore, and luckily, Tyler is his “get out of Tower of Terror jail free” card. ;) I ran ahead and got one for ToT and one for the Rock and Roller Coaster. We had some lunch, and it was not crazy crowded yet, so we had a nice quiet table. A nice warm breeze. It felt good. We walked over to go see the Playhouse Disney show. On the way we saw the High School Musical street show. Very cute, and sadly I knew some of the songs. Haha We leave the crowd and head over to Playhouse Disney Live. We didn’t wait in line too long and went in and sat close to the front. This is where you see the lack of considerate parenting skills come into play. I cannot stand it when parents allow children to be rude, selfish and pushy. I held my tongue and luckily the cast members intervened. Anyway, the show starts and it was a bit disappointing. It was hard for the little ones to see the puppets. Here is a pict of Ty's view. The puppets are tiny and pop up just above the stage.

It was also a bit dated, Bear in the Big Blue House…and Stanley. No... we want Little Einsteins, and Handy Manny…haha Well, I believe this month, the show is being redone and set to open with all the new stuff in a month or so. So I let it go. Glad we got to see it and Ty loved the bubbles and confetti that flew down. It was cute, but I am surprised it lasted that long. Maybe where we were sitting was bad, who knows. The host was adorable and fun. After the show…we go to the character meet and greet. We spot Handy Manny first…Ty gets SO excited! He waited so patiently.

While we were waiting, this Spanish family pushed a bunch of us out of the way. Literally pushed Ty and me. I was fuming, but the family in front of us said something. They of course pulled the “don’t speak English” card and played it off. I am sorry, they knew what they did was wrong. I let it go, didn’t want to stress, but I thought the Mom in front of me was gonna freak out. I just told her, let it go, they will be out of our way, they might have been more obnoxious behind us. She seemed content to know I felt her pain. When we met back up with Tim…he said, “Right before you came out, this Spanish girl pushed her way through and tried to throw her trash in our stroller and when she saw me, threw it on the ground instead.” No doubt she was with the same rude group. Where do these people come from to act like such animals? I guess lack of manners and lack of respect float everywhere. After this crazy excitement…I was off to ride Tower of Terror and RocknRoller coaster. Tim and Tyler set out to meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody. This is from our photopass CD

I walked right on both rides and met back up with Tim and Ty at the Pizza Planet. Perfect timing ☺ We decided to head out and go get some rest. We caught a photopass guy on the way out…

Next, we had ressies for Kona Café at the Poly.
It was so exciting to be at the Poly once again! We spent our honeymoon here and it is out favorite resort. Kona has become one of our favorite restaurants. Really good food and just enough noise to drown out a playful toddler. ☺ We bought Ty a ukulele while we were waiting at the gift shop downstairs. We were really early, so we knew we would have to wait ;)
Here is a Poly Christmas Tree…

We had plans to go to the Magic Kingdom afterwards to see the fireworks. We got our seats and ordered our meals.
We both got the Kona Crab Cakes (they tasted very close to B-more crabcakes!) Come to find out, the head chef was from Baltimore. We met him and he was so nice.

We both got the Filet too, but I didn’t get a picture. We got dessert too. I ordered the Kona Kiddie Cone for Ty and me and Tim got the Banana Crème Brulee.

We met this nice Mom and son. They were so sweet to Tyler and was very impressed with his guitar playing. She could not believe he was 2. It made us feel good. We were proud. Our little rocker.
When we were finished, we rode the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom. I could not wait to see the castle all lit up.
OH MY GOSH. Pictures do not do this justice. It is breathtaking. I got teary once again. haha We then went over to Small World and Tyler and I rode that. next, we watched the fireworks and right where we were standing, it was one of my favorites Tinkerbell!!! She flew right over our heads from the top of the castle. The fireworks were beautiful and Jimny Cricket was all "Be careful what you wish for...it just might come true..." and at this point holding back the tears. haha I was not the only one :) I kissed Ty's little head and he said "I love you Mommy". it was a moment. After the show, Tim got a call from his work buddy Eric and his wife April who were staying in Disney too. We met up with them and talked for a bit. We got some popcorn and sodas and waited for the crowd to die down a bit. It was nice to see them again. April has got to be one of the sweetest people ever. I enjoyed talking to her. Tim and Eric talked work and Disney Vacation Club. :) A DVC is our next goal. We rode back to the Poly and on the way out I looked at the DVC kiosk once again. Sigh. haha The lady noticed me and we had a nice chat. I know we will get one one day. I love me some Disney. haha
Here is a picture of the castle all lit up...and blurry...haha but you get the idea.
