Ok, so we are loving life in the most euphoric state as we are about to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Back pain, what back pain…haha We walk our in front of the castle for the Cinderella’s Castle Lighting. Pictures do not do this spectacular event justice. It is just gorgeous, magical and amazing. There is this whole story with the Fairy Godmother and Cindy and its just so cute…but hard to pay attention because the anticipation of what we were about to witness. We heard so much about it, but to see it…we could not wait.
Pictures do not compare to the real thing. Breathtaking…
So we caught our breath and headed down to where they were handing out the Christmas party wristbands.
We walked around and got some complimentary hot chocolate and cookies (apples for Ty too). We wandered through Liberty Square and there were of course, carolers. Tyler LOVED it, especially when they started singing his favorite Christmas carol Jingle Bells ☺
The carolers called all the little children up to sing, and Tyler just had to do. Cute little performer. So many awww’s from the crowd and he ate it up.
We got a message from Tim’s work buddy Eric and his lovely wife and headed over to Main Street. It was so crowded…definitely not like the Pirate and Princesses party…we felt like we had the park to ourselves then. I guess we were spoiled. Haha It was still amazing, because Disney actually made it snow on Main Street. It was incredible… the hustle of people, and the flurries…the Christmas music…it was wonderful!
alas
We found Eric and April,
but Tyler lost one of his new red Mickey Crocs. I retraced our steps and we were lucky that a cast member found it and was holding it in his hand. I was SO happy, relieved. Tyler had this thing where he decided he would rather be barefoot. We looked for his shoes many times, but I am pleased to say, we never lost them. I did lose my Mickey windbreaker, to which I am still heartbroken over that…but that is another story.
Side note: I packed as though it was going to be freezing cold…however, it was in the 80s, low 90s the whole week…EXCEPT for the Christmas Party night!!! I got get our long sleeves and layers on for that. The cool air made it even more Christmasy…
Here is Ty and I with our layers…
We got some more hot Chocolate and apples with Eric and April and headed over to ride Buzz Lightyear. Tim was feeling a little under the weather, so Ty and I went with Eric and April. Ty took a lot of pictures and here is one of a cool Christmas balloon.
Cute.
When we were done, we found Tim and Eric and April went to ride Space Mountain and we headed over to Mickey’s Toontown Fair.
Tyler rode his FIRST roller coaster. Tim took Ty and they went on Goofy’s Barnstormer. Tim said it was a little wilder than it appears from the ground. Haha Tyler was not distraught, but Tim said he was scared. We went over to look at Mickey and Minnie’s homes and decorations.
Here is Tyler with Mickey’s mailbox…
Inside Mickey bedroom..too cute
We rode a few more rides and headed over to find a spot to watch the special Christmas Fireworks. Again, words cannot explain and yes, I did shed a tear or two. How lucky, how blessed I felt…watching this with my little man. I hugged him extra tight. Tim and I locked eyes and I know we were thinking the same thing.
Next, we headed over to get a spot for the special Christmas parade. Tyler and I found a spot across from Tim and our friends next to the sweetest little old lady in a wheelchair. She was so cute and just fell in love with Tyler. I felt like she adopted him as her grandchild for the parade, and while it sounds weird, it was really special. She loved talking to him. She was from Scotland and had a cane adorned with all these medals. The medals were from all the places she had visited in her life. Tyler loved looking at it and they had this unspoken language. The parade started and so did my tears. Haha It was amazing. The sweet little old lady next to us would look at Tyler for his reaction…like watching the parade through his sweet young, innocent eyes. It was like she was a child once again. It was a beautiful thing to witness. It touched my heart that Tyler could bring her so much joy. The parade had EVERYTHING! All the characters, Christmas, toys, candy and even smells of Christmas through the different floats…like gingerbread, candycanes, evergreen… it was just incredible.
When TyTy was in my belly, I called him Roo…so this brought me sentimental tears ☺
and last but not least…the main event!
SANTA!!!
At this point, we were overwhelmed and it was completely wonderful!
We loved every minute of it, but it was time to go back to our resort…
We said goodbye to Eric and April and headed back.
It was so much fun and we cannot wait for the chance to go back again one day.
And to all, an exceptionally amazing night…
